Course Description:

The increasing number of dental lasers and applications for soft tissue procedures is leading to much confusion of the various roles that lasers may or may not play in the dental practice. This program will enhance the clinician’s knowledge of the science, functionality, and importance that the laser brings to everyday patient care and especially to dental hygiene and digital dentistry.  The wide range of laser and light-based applications in dentistry is almost limitless.

Today, routine laser procedures include restorative preparations, endodontic procedures, osseous recontouring and as well as managing and treating peri-implantitis. Soft tissue applications include hygiene procedures and a multitude of surgical procedures that can be minimally invasive as well as the use of photobiomodulation (PBM) for pain control and enhanced healing.  The program is specifically intended to assist dentists and hygienists in understanding the benefits that laser technology provides for enhancing the quality of care for all of their patients and the potential benefits the appropriate laser can provide in efficiency and improved treatment outcomes.  This course is designed to give the attendees the knowledge and confidence to evaluate and select the proper laser that will be the most beneficial to their practice.
